The 2006 Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne in March are set to be one of the biggest sporting events ever seen in this country. Athletes from over 70 Commonwealth nations will descend on Melbourne for the Games, to be held from March 15 – 26.
Approximately 6000 athletes and team officials are expected for the event, and will be housed in the Commonwealth Games Village in Parkville. The Village comprises 400 new dwellings consisting of both permanent dwellings and relocatable portables.
Olex, via Middendorp Frankston, have supplied Chief Electrics approximately $300,000 of Building Wire / TPS for the construction of the Games Village.
The stock supplied is mostly made up of underground and power & light cables which are used in housing developments to power the property’s lights and appliances.
Olex are proud to be assisting Chief Electrics in this major project for Victoria. The McQuinn family (Chief Electrics) have a long history with Olex and have supported Olex and National Cables for more than 30 years.
